The TEXAS MUSIC LEGENDS HALL OF FAME

The Texas Music Legends Hall Of Fame, which is under the banner of the Texas Songwriters Association International (TSAI), was conceived and created in 2015 by Lee Duffy, TSAI’s Executive Director, with the help of Rick Busby, then president of the Austin Songwriters Group, to recognize and honor the music industry professionals that help shape and make the Texas music community the fertile unique landscape that it is.

There are two main differences that set this Hall Of Fame apart from all the others.

One, this Hall Of Fame is not just for artists. It is for the photographers, music journalist, publicists, producers, venue owners, music supervisors, music promoters, radio, media, entertainment lawyers, engineers, and more. All of them, together with the artists make it happen. It truly takes a village.

Two, this Hall Of Fame is a community chosen by its peers. The alumni do the nominating and voting to decide who will be invited to be inducted each year. The members that have been previously inducted are a talented group of professionals, each one of which has made a unique and influential contribution to the Texas music community. 

It is our belief that the songs, stories, and contributions of vital members of the Texas music community should be recognized. Our goal is that these individuals and their contributions will be remembered and celebrated by future generations. 

The awards will be presented, and the induction ceremony occurs, each year at the Texas Songwriters Association International / Austin Songwriters Group International annual Texas Songwriters Symposium. Previous inductees celebrate the event as a homecoming/reunion for members of the Texas Music Legends Hall Of Fame. The inaugural celebration and induction was held January 14, 2016. 

This year the induction ceremony will be held Wednesday February 7th, 2024 at 8 PM  at the Holiday Inn Midtown, 6000 Middle Fiskville Road in Austin, Texas as part of the 20th Annual Texas Songwriters Symposium. There is no charge and everyone is welcome to come and share in the celebration.
